A new start

I did lots of finishing last week. That can only mean one thing. I'm cutting for a new quilt. I love starting. Picking fabrics and cutting them into quilt seeds is so much fun.

I haven't forgotten this unfinished project.

It just requires some calm concentration. That happens occasionally around here. But I'm still plugging away. Stay tuned!

Happy sewing!

That star pattern you're going to make next is beautiful but it looks very complicated to me. (I still need easy!) Beautiful colors for it. Very gentle and calming. I love the shapes on your unfinished project. How many blocks will you make for that quilt and how large are they?

The new pattern is quite easy. The book Scrap-Basket Beauties is filled with patterns that really sew up nicely. Just pick a pile of 2.5" strips and go! The ongoing project is a little more complicated, loads of curved piecing. But I enjoy that challenge too! The important part is to do what makes you happy!!

I'm hoping to make that 64 8 inch blocks for the unfinished project. We'll see if I can hold out that long before I call it finished!

Love your winding ways blocks! That one's definitely on my bucket list (unfortunately, don't have an Go cutter, so will have to do the cutting by hand, but I don't mind).

Thanks, P! They are rewarding to make, even if I have to go a little more slowly than I like.
