Tedium

I love completing quilt tops. But I don't love the tedium of assembling blocks in to rows and pinning rows together. I adore rotary cutting and all of the possibilities of a new project. I'm so proud when I finish binding a quilt. But today, I'm doing the part that makes me whine.

What's your favorite part of the process?

My very favorite part is when I first get an idea, then the fun starts. I like most parts of making a quilt, but the best is FINISHED! Then it all starts over again. I just like making quilts.

I agree, the best is finished!

Sometimes I like the rhythm and unthinkingness (I know it's not a word but it's better than thoughtlessness) of just pinning and stitching, pinning and stitching. I can just peacefully think or listen to music or an audio book. Other times, it just drives me crazy. But hurray for you because the finished quilt looks gorgeous!

Thanks, Nancy! I feel bad that I whined, because it went together so easily. I love "unthinkingness", it describes the relaxed state of being at peace with my sewing machine.
